PreS-K-Introducing a young child to reading with a book that features a familiar character may be the ticket to helping hook them on books. This back-to-school "CoComelon" title may do the trick. JJ is off to his first day of preschool, where he and his friends learn fun things throughout the day, including colors, numbers, shapes, and the alphabet. They also participate in playtime activities. This well-constructed early reader features a question-and-answer format that provides opportunities for readers to search for answers in the colorful pictures. Short sentences, the interactive nature, and the use of word repetition make this a perfect choice for the beginning reader crowd. Share the book with younger fans of the show to help support their learning development of basic concepts, such as ABCs, colors, numbers, shapes, and more. VERDICT This fun and educational addition to a library collection can be used in interactive back-to-school story time, to refresh back-to-school collections, or to share with fans who cannot get enough of CoComelon.-Cassie Veselovsky
