Gray (Love Bleeds Deep) delivers a queer werewolf romance with more fluff than bite. Christiana Arjean is on the run from her stalker cop ex-boyfriend when she’s rescued from the side of the road by butch biker Micah Nubilo and brought into the Arizona woods to the camp of the Hounds of God, Micah’s survivalist biker club—and secretly a queer werewolf pack of which Micah is alpha. Despite Christiana’s humanity, it soon becomes clear that she and Micah are fated mates, but Micah must rebalance her inner wolf’s rage before she can pursue intimacy safely. The Hounds of God enact a revenge plot against Christiana’s ex that resolves too cleanly, with magical hand-waving eliminating real-world consequences, and the rules of werewolf life and love follow standard genre tropes, but the interpersonal relationships within the pack are delightful and refreshingly free of the infighting often seen in werewolf romance. Micah’s magnetism, charisma, and drive shine through from the moment she hits the page, making it surprising and sweet when, despite her feral nature, she discloses her inexperience with sex and lets the otherwise more passive Christiana guide her through their first encounter. Fans of queer romance craving feel-good escapism—and hot women on bikes—will have fun with this.

A new lesbian romance from Gray (author of the "Fatal Fidelity" series, a paranormal romance between a woman and a nonbinary person). Christiana Arjean is fleeing for her life when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and she can't get a phone signal. She takes a chance on a tall, muscular biker with razored white hair who stops to help. Micah Nubilo, president of the Hounds of God motorcycle club, knew Christiana was trouble as soon as she caught her scent. Micah is compelled to help when she learns that Christiana is fleeing an abusive ex who's a cop. Micah's challenge is going to be keeping her hands off Christiana and keeping her from finding out that the "Hounds of God" name is a bit more literal than most the monikers of most motorcycle clubs. Were Christiana to learn the club's secret, the penalty would be death for both the Hound and the witness. VERDICT Gray twists paranormal tropes into a steamy take on fated mates. Recommended for all public libraries seeking more paranormal romance.
